Submission Deadline: May 15, 2025

Pharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, an official journal of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, is devoted to disseminating research on human pharmacology and drug therapy. A themed issue on enhancing Pharmacotherapy through applications of artificial intelligence (AI) is being planned and will be edited by Dr William L. Baker Jr from the University of Connecticut and Dr Alexandre Chan from the University of California, Irvine.

The goal of this themed issue is to expand the use of AI techniques in analyzing and understanding complex data on drug and drug therapy in various human diseases and conditions. Research manuscripts that demonstrate the use of AI-related techniques including machine learning, pattern recognition, natural language understanding, and big data manipulation are desired. The scope of manuscripts desired for this themed issue includes the application of AI- related techniques to (1) evaluate drug efficacy using clinical trial or observational data, (2) analyze drug-related problems, (3) investigate specific pharmacologic properties of drugs, and

(4) establish the value of drug usage. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and original research should include measurable and reproducible outcomes.

If you have questions about the themed issue or would like to propose a paper, you are strongly encouraged to contact the guest editors to discuss the nature and scope of your paper before submission. Address correspondence to Dr William L. Baker Jr at [email protected] and Dr Alexandre Chan at [email protected].
